Job summary

4Kids4Families is seeking an Intake Specialist in Tyler, TX to locate safe placement for children in DFPS conservatorship or referred by state/partner agencies. You will work with DFPS staff, foster parents and providers to gather feedback and improve the placement process, while maintaining strict data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of child welfare experience, with on-call duties and crisis-handling responsibilities.

• Proficiency in documenting and reporting information accurately, ensuring compliance with agency policies and legal requirements

Responsibilities

• Receive and review client referrals and intake information. Ensure all information is entered into agencies’ databases accurately.
• Collaborate with caseworkers, foster parents, and other stakeholders to gather feedback and improve the application process for placement.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Coordinate response to all referral calls to CPS within 1 hour.
• Maintain up-to-date listing of all agency providers and licensing capacity with accurate data entry.
• Must be willing to work on call and after normal business hours to ensure 24/7 coverage.
• May supervise SSCC youth as required.
• Handle crisis situations and make sound decisions quickly and calmly.
• Adhere to contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory standards.
• May drive vehicles and complete company vehicle training.

Overview

The 4Kids4Families Intake Specialist will be primarily responsible for locating safe and appropriate placement for children who are in the conservatorship of DFPS or were referred to Arrow by state or partner agencies. The position promotes the wellbeing of children and interacts routinely with contracted residential providers, DFPS staff, district administrative and casework staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and encourage a healthy staff environment and culture.
• Must be willing to work on call and after normal business hours as needed to ensure 24/7 coverage.
• Responsible for the supervision of SSCC youth may be required.
• Able to handle crisis situations and make sound decisions in a quick and calm manner.
• Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
• May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
