Job summary

Fortune Brands is seeking a Manager of Automation and Controls Engineering to lead a team responsible for the reliable operation of automated machinery, conveyors, robotics, and more at the Moen Distribution Center in Kinston, NC. You will supervise preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineers to optimize equipment performance.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, strong PLC/automation experience, and a track record of

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Experience leading engineering and maintenance teams in manufacturing or distribution.
Experience with controls systems and integration (AB, PLC/HMI, etc).
Development, support and troubleshooting of Intelligrated software.
Experience with lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
Project management experience including design, development and implementation.

Responsibilities

Oversee facility management and maintenance operations including equipment performance and PM plans.
Lead and mentor maintenance staff and foster collaboration on installs and repairs.
Lead engineering projects, advancing automation strategies and capital projects.
Drive continuous improvement with KPIs and performance standards.
Act as automation SME on project teams influencing system design decisions.
Provide strategic leadership for processes, policies, and procedures in engineering.
Ensure startup readiness and validate code/configurations meeting specifications.
Maintain a safe environment and ensure regulatory compliance site-wide.
Manage labor/overhead budget and drive cost-saving initiatives.
