Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Manager, Staff Software Engineering - Applied AI to shape the strategy and execution of core AI platform systems. You will lead distributed teams, drive architecture decisions, and deliver secure, scalable AI capabilities for customers and agents.

This role requires deep technical judgment, strong leadership, and a track record of building reusable platforms that scale across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including distributed systems and platform capabilities.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing teams.
• Strong background in platform engineering, APIs, orchestration, and SOA.
• Experience leading Applied AI, intelligent systems, or workflow automation in production.
• Ability to influence cross-functional strategy and drive execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow engineering teams responsible for critical Applied AI platform capabilities.
• Define and drive the technical strategy for foundational AI platforms, including shared services and orchestration.
• Partner with product, architecture, domain, and business leaders to translate needs into scalable platform solutions.
• Oversee the design and delivery of secure, resilient, extensible systems for AI experiences across channels.
• Establish strong engineering standards across architecture, development, quality, observability, and operations.
• Build a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Balance near-term execution with long-term platform vision and scale.
