Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer in Bethesda to shape the architecture of a medium-to-large product platform. You will lead multi-team efforts, drive AI-enabled solutions, and ensure secure, observable enterprise systems.

Strong coding, testing, and leadership are essential for producing reliable, scalable software. Responsibilities include defining reusable frameworks, aligning roadmaps, and mentoring engineers while delivering AI-powered features across cloud environments

Qualifications

10+ years of full-stack development with Java/C#/Python/Go and modern frameworks.
Experience architecting large SaaS platforms and microservices with API patterns.
2+ years shipping LLM or intelligent automation in production.
Hands-on testing, automated testing strategies, and test data management.
Production engineering discipline covering security, observability, and governance.

Responsibilities

Own technical architecture and direction across multi-team product areas.
Lead adoption of AI-enabled platforms, standards, and patterns.
Collaborate with product and analytics to translate business needs into designs.
Define and drive automated testing strategy including AI-assisted testing.
Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, promote responsible AI deployment.
