Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager, Trial Surveillance & Analytics to own an end-to-end capability from data to product. You will apply AI/ML to safety signals, build data pipelines, and deliver drinkable outputs for study teams.

The role combines hands-on programming in R and Python with cross-functional collaboration across Global Patient Safety, statistics, and data engineering. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• MS (8+ yrs) or PhD (4+ yrs) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, ML or related field.
• Experience with clinical trial data and real-world data preferred.
• Strong programming in R and Python, SQL, and Git for production pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Frame surveillance problems with stakeholders before building; design for adoption.
• Design and build data pipelines and analytics-ready data for safety surveillance.
• Lead blinded, standardized analytics across studies to detect signals early.
• Deliver reporting: tables, listings, figures, safety reports; automate where possible.
• Develop dashboards and self-service tools; drive adoption and measure use.
