Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Manager for Trial Surveillance & Analytics to own end-to-end data solutions. You will design data pipelines, implement surveillance analytics across trials, and deliver automated reporting.

The role blends statistics, AI, and software engineering to support patient safety decisions in regulatory-compliant environments. You will lead small cross-functional pods, mentor teammates, and collaborate with clinical development groups.

Qualifications

• MS (8+ years) or PhD (4+ years) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, ML/AI or related field.
• Experience with clinical trial data and/or real-world data.
• Strong coding in R and Python, SQL and Git; production-quality analytical pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Frame surveillance problems with stakeholders and design for adoption.
• Build data pipelines and analysis-ready data on SDTM/ADaM for safety and efficacy surveillance.
• Lead blinded, standardized analytics across studies to detect signals early.
• Deliver reporting: tables, listings, figures and safety reports; automate where possible.
• Develop dashboards and self-service tools to enable study teams and patient safety colleagues.
• Apply generative and agentic AI across analysis workflow and measure gains in time/quality.
• Integrate clinical trial and real-world data where needed; assess data quality.
• Lead projects and cross-functional pods; mentor team members; may supervise staff.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences; participate in cross-functional forums.
• Ensure adherence to GCP, ICH guidelines, AbbVie SOPs and quality standards.
