Job summary

AbbVie Inc. in Irvine seeks a Senior Manager of Trial Surveillance & Analytics to join a hands-on, full-stack data science team.

You’ll own surveillance problems from problem statement to working product, delivering automated reporting, dashboards and AI-powered tools for safety and efficacy signals. You will design data pipelines for SDTM/ADaM integration, mentor team members, and partner across Global Patient Safety, clinical development, statistics and data engineering.

Qualifications

• MS (with 8+ years) or PhD (with 4+ years) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Machine learning or a related field.
• Experience with clinical trial data (CDISC SDTM/ADaM) and real-world data (EHR, claims, registries).
• Strong hands-on programming in R and Python, plus SQL and version control; production-quality code for end-to-end analytics pipelines.
• Experience applying generative or agentic AI to analytical or programming work; measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Frame surveillance problems with stakeholders and design for adoption.
• Build data pipelines and integrated data to support safety and efficacy surveillance.
• Lead analytics across studies to detect signals early; deliver reporting and dashboards.
