Job summary

Cogent Security is building a world-class marketing team, seeking a Senior Manager of Content Marketing to turn product insight, original research, and customer outcomes into content for security practitioners. You’ll own blogs, whitepapers, ebooks, and research reports, and ensure visibility via search, AI answers, and social.

You’ll interview experts, draft and publish at a fast pace, and work with contractors for video and visuals.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in B2B content roles, with at least three writing for security practitioners and buyers.
• Excellent writing and editorial judgment; explain complex security topics simply.
• A track record of content that earned attention: organic traffic and rankings, citations in AI answers, social engagement, and downloads of long-form assets.
• Hands-on SEO and AEO experience, with tools like Semrush, GA4, Profound, and AirOps.
• You've shipped at a fast-moving company without a big team behind you.
• Fluent with AI in the actual work. You can walk through a content workflow you built, where it broke, and what you changed.

Responsibilities

• Produce blog posts, whitepapers, and ebooks to build awareness with security practitioners and engage buyers at each stage of the buying process.
• Interview Cogent's researchers, engineers, and field team for raw material, and ensure every technical detail is right.
• Draft POV pieces quickly after security news breaks while it still matters.
• Execute Cogent's social strategy with regular series that keep Cogent's view in front of practitioners.
• Write scripts for short videos and explainers, and work with contractors who shoot and edit them.
• Run SEO and AEO programs: research what buyers search for and structure each piece for ranking and citations.
• Track content performance in search and AI answers, refreshing pieces that slip.
• Collaborate on Cogent's flagship research report: shape findings into a story and write the report.
• Repurpose top content into blog series, social posts, short video, and sales assets.
• Use AI across your workflow to ship at pace without losing accuracy or voice.
