Job summary

JPMorganChase's Chief Data and Analytics Office AI/ML and Data Platforms team seeks a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering to mentor 8–10 engineers and own non-functional requirements for large-scale data platforms.

You will set availability targets, drive SLIs/SLAs, and lead observability using Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk across Databricks and Spark pipelines, ensuring security and high performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading site reliability or platform engineering teams.
• Experience with SLIs/SLOs and production readiness for large distributed data platforms.
• Proficient with observability tools and monitoring strategies (Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk).
• Strong Python or automation scripting for tooling.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8–10 engineers, promoting ownership and continuous improvement.
• Own non-functional requirements, availability targets, and SLIs/SLAs for services supporting large-scale data platforms and AI workloads.
• Drive the design and evolution of observability frameworks across distributed systems and data platforms.
• Oversee the architecture and operational stability of data platform infrastructure, including Databricks and Spark-based pipelines.
• Lead adoption of enterprise AI capabilities within reliability engineering workflows, with validation and escalation paths.
• Foster real-time feedback loops, conduct post-mortems, and ensure learning from incidents.
