Job summary

ShopMy in New York, NY seeks a Senior Manager, Accounting to build and maintain the financial infrastructure that drives growth. You will own month-end close, support audits, and partner across teams to ensure accurate, timely financial data and scalable processes.

The role emphasizes an audit mindset, internal controls, and the ability to translate financial complexity for non-finance stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong audit foundation.
• CPA licensed with solid GAAP knowledge and ability to write technical memos.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial data.
• Familiarity with modern accounting tools and process improvements.
• Experience in technology, e‑commerce, or high-growth startups is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close and reconciliations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data across the business.
• Maintain strong internal controls, compliance, and financial processes.

About the Role:

As a Senior Manager, Accounting at ShopMy, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the financial infrastructure that supports our continued growth. You'll own the day-to-day accounting function, bring a strong audit mindset to everything you touch, and partner cross-functionally to ensure our financial data is accurate, prepared timely, and built to scale. Your Impact to the Role:

• Own day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations ,variance explanations and financial reporting
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data across the business
• Bring a strong audit mindset to internal controls, compliance, and financial processes
• Research technical accounting matters, and prepare clear, well supported memos for audit and financial reporting purposes
• Apply industry-relevant accounting knowledge to navigate the nuances of a high-growth technology and creator economy company
• Identify opportunities to improve and scale accounting systems and workflows as the business grows
• Support external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements as needed

What We're Looking For:

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong foundation in audit
• CPA license
• Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards and demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and write up technical accounting positions and memos
• Familiarity with modern accounting tools and a track record of process improvement
• Industry-relevant experience in technology, e-commerce, or a high-growth startup environment preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communicator who can translate complex financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders

Bonus Points:

• Industry relevant experience in technology, e-commerce, or a high-growth startup environment
• NetSuite ERP system experience

New York Pay Range

$135,000 - $155,000 USD

The provided salary range is base salary, exclusive of bonus potential or commission and is a good faith estimate of cash compensation. ShopMy is flexible pending candidate's experience and how our business needs evolve throughout the search. Every employee of ShopMy receives equity on top of cash compensation!
