Job summary

ShopMy, a high-growth e-commerce company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team in New York City. You will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure GAAP-compliant processes, and contribute to the month-end close.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work in a fast-moving startup. Collaboration with other departments and interaction with audits are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience in technology, e-commerce, or a high growth startup environment preferred.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Based in NYC or the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Support month end and year end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with internal controls, compliance, and audit preparation
• Partner cross functionally to gather data and resolve discrepancies
• Help identify and implement process improvements
• Support external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements as needed

About The Role

As a Senior Accountant at ShopMy, you'll be a core part of the Finance team, supporting the day to day accounting operations that keep the business running. You'll bring solid accounting fundamentals and industry experience, and thrive in a fast moving environment where priorities shift.

Your Impact To The Role

• Support month end and year end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience

• Based in NYC or the Bay Area

Bonus Points

• CPA certification or currently pursuing
• Experience with modern accounting software and tools

New York Pay Range

$100,000 - $115,000 USD

The provided salary range is base salary, exclusive of bonus potential or commission and is a good faith estimate of cash compensation. ShopMy is flexible pending candidate's experience and how our business needs evolve throughout the search. Every employee of ShopMy receives equity on top of cash compensation!
