Job summary

City of Laguna Beach is seeking a Senior Management Analyst to support the Public Works Department with administrative, analytical, and program management duties focused on the solid waste program. You will manage the waste hauler contract, monitor performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead recycling and waste-reduction initiatives.

The role requires experience in budgeting, data analysis, and coordinating with regional agencies, with opportunities to supervise staff and influence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or field related to the job duties.
• Master's degree in public administration, business administration, or related field is desirable.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible journey-level experience including data analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
• Experience in solid waste, recycling, and sustainability programs.
• Experience preparing and managing revenue and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the City’s solid waste program and waste hauler contract, monitor performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead development and implementation of recycling, organics, and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Supervise internal staff and coordinate with regional agencies.
• Prepare budgets, analytical reports, and evaluate service levels to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
