Job summary

DelDOT is seeking a Management Analyst III to conduct studies, analyze data and interpret policies across complex management and operational areas. You will interview staff, review processes, define improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and compliance.

The role requires multiple years of experience in studies, statistics and interpreting regulations, plus ability to design studies and write narrative reports.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in conducting studies evaluating operations, programs, services, policies and procedures to determine efficiency, effectiveness, whether goals and objectives are met and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Three years experience in descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode or standard deviation.
• Three years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Six months experience in designing studies including determining study goals, information needed, data sources, sampling and collection methods.
• Six months experience in making recommendations for continuation or changes to operations, programs, services, policies or procedures based on findings.
• Six months experience in narrative report writing.
• Knowledge of inferential statistics such as correlation, t-tests, f-tests or analysis of variance.

Responsibilities

• Interviews agency staff, observes work processes and gathers data relating to operational and managerial practices for evaluating services and compliance with goals.
• Reviews, analyzes and interprets data relating to policies, procedures, organization, and operations; defines and may recommend corrections.
• Analyzes data, develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
• Evaluates operational effectiveness in meeting goals and objectives.
• Provides technical assistance in understanding management objectives and controls for issue resolution.
• Studies legislation, administrative orders and regulations.
• Makes recommendations for new techniques or procedures to improve operations and utilize resources.
• Documents findings and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems or procedures.
• May supervise administrative staff.
