Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation seeks a Lead Mammography Technologist to lead operational and administrative Mammography services across multiple sites. You will direct technologists, ensure QA, and oversee imaging acquisition, processing, and archiving.

This senior role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise in mammography and bone density, and the ability to collaborate with radiologists and management. Weekend coverage is possible within a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, including 1 year in a senior/lead technologist role; exposure to mammography and bone density studies.
• NYS License, ARRT and mammography certified; current BLS.
• Demonstrated leadership in a team environment with training/knowledge sharing and problem-solving skills.
• Must communicate well and be able to deescalate stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and staff.
• Perform mammography and bone density studies and related radiologic procedures.
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness and consult radiologist as needed.
• Position patients for best-case imaging and monitor status.
• Ensure quality of finished images and prepare for interpretation.
• Assist radiologist with biopsies and ensure documentation is complete.
• Maintain equipment logs, QA, PM, and regulatory records.
• Train and supervise technologists; plan staffing and coverage.
• Support MQSA inspections and update SOPs as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and staff for equipment readiness.
• Handle patient records and clerical tasks related to imaging.
