Job summary

San Francisco Ballet seeks a Senior Philanthropy Officer to grow the major gifts program, cultivating and soliciting high-value donors and stewarding relationships with strategic initiatives and campaigns.

The role reports to the Deputy Director, Campaign & Individual Philanthropy and requires deep donor engagement, excellent communication, and a commitment to the arts. Hybrid work with in-person donor events and Nutcracker season activities.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement detailed major gifts fundraising plans.
• Successfully solicits individual major gifts of $25,000 and above.
• Maintains documentation and donor activity in Tessitura.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of ~150 major gift donors with tailored cultivation plans.
• Lead solicitation process from identification to gift closure and acknowledgement.
• Build authentic long-term relationships with donors and align with their philanthropic interests.
• Plan and solicit sophisticated multi-year Campaign asks in collaboration with leadership.
