Senior Maintenance Technician - Injection

The Sr. Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures. The role involves sharing knowledge of all production equipment, acting as a subject matter expert, and performing troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment. The technician works closely with other team members to resolve mechanical issues and develops best practices aligned with Niagara’s maintenance strategies, including preventative and predictive maintenance, continuous improvement, and training.

Essential Functions

• Adhere to and enforce safety and good manufacturing practices plant-wide.
• Train and lead Operators, Mechanics, and Supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.
• Collaborate with plant leadership on projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and problem resolution.
• Rapidly identify machine problems to minimize downtime, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with other technicians to resolve cross-functional problems.
• Utilize software systems to analyze issues and improve throughput and performance.
• Lead overhaul efforts during planned downtime to rebuild equipment.
• Transfer knowledge to team members in areas such as blow molding, filling/capping, labeling, dry-end packaging, and injection technology, including specific equipment and systems.
• Create SOPs for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system.
• Maintain regular attendance and be available for on-call duties to ensure uptime.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
• 6 years of experience in a similar position.
• 4 years of experience managing people or projects.

Additional skills include effective communication, reading schematics, operating shop equipment, and proficiency with measuring tools. Preferred qualifications include more extensive experience, specific industry experience, and skills in fabrication and electrical systems.
