Job summary

Lummus Technology is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide general maintenance support at our site in Houston. You will diagnose equipment failures, perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, and ensure safety programs are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a plant environment.
• Strong tubing and piping abilities.
• Experience with instrumentation, electrical and mechanical systems preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes.
• Run tubing and piping; maintain facility lighting and grounds.
• Replace or repair defective mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, mixers, valves, and related systems.
• Read electrical schematics, P&IDs, manuals and drawings.
• Comply with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safety programs.
• Maintain housekeeping in maintenance shops and work areas.
• Follow facility procedures and safety programs.
• Grease and lube machines; perform diagnostics and calibrate equipment.
• Relocate power lines and decommission electrical panels.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and perform new installations.

Provide general maintenance support to the site facility in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes of recurring problems.
• Running tubing and piping, and general maintenance (i.e. facility lighting, plumbing and grounds).
• Replace or repair defective mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, mixers, valves, and associated systems.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical systems, including motors, MCCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
• Comply with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other safety programs.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in maintenance shops and work areas.
• Follow all facility procedures and safe work practices by fully participating in the facility’s safety programs (Lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work, line break)
• Grease and lube the machines, perform diagnostics, and maintain broken equipment.
• Relocate power lines/supply to different buildings and decommission electrical panels.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation problems, perform new installations, and calibrate/tune process equipment.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a plant environment.
• Strong tubing and piping abilities.
• Strong instrumentation, electrical and/or mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience working in a safety-conscious work environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical equipment and systems.
