Job summary

Luxium Solutions, LLC in Milford, CT, seeks a Facility Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment ensuring safe, efficient plant operations. The role supports furnaces, production machinery, and facility systems, with growing responsibility for safety and performance.

A High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of industrial maintenance experience are required, along with hands-on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and welding skills. On-call rotation and PPE are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of industrial maintenance or facilities experience.
• 3 years of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pneumatic systems.
• General machining skills (lathe, mills and welding).
• 3 years of experience in process cooling water systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics and manuals.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office.
• Valid Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• On-call availability on a rotating basis.
• PPE beyond standard requirements may be needed.
• Safely perform machine repair, electrical, HVAC, welding, carpentry, plumbing, and machine operation using OSHA and company standards.
• Assist with installation of electrical equipment per NEC; use a DMM for testing.
• Install plumbing up to specified sizes; fabricate as needed.
• Repair or fabricate equipment with MIG/STICK/TIG welding.
• Disassemble/reassemble production machinery to locate/repair parts.
• Replace defective parts such as bearings, shafts, pumps, motors and transformers.
• Reassemble machinery and ensure parts conform to specs.
• Perform repairs anywhere on the property with necessary tools.
• Use negative pressure or PAPR respirators as required.
• Repair automated equipment with PLCs, PCs and HMIs.

The Facility Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment to keep plant operations safe and efficient. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role supports crystal growth furnaces, production machinery, and facility systems, while also handling general building and grounds maintenance. The technician works independently on complex tasks such as equipment installation and process improvements, with higher levels requiring greater technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and responsibility for safety and equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• On-call availability will be required on a rotating basis.


• Due to the nature of the position, additional PPE outside of the normal standards may be required.


• Safely perform machine repair, electrical, HVAC, welding, carpentry, plumbing, and machine operation using OSHA and company standards.


• Assist with the installation of electrical equipment per NEC requirements. Use of DMM for voltage and resistance testing.


• Install Plumbing equipment to include copper up to 2\", PVC up to 6\", S.S. tubing up to ¾\"


• Make repairs or fabricate equipment that may require the use of a stick/mig/tig welder


• Disassemble and reassemble production machinery and plant equipment to locate and repair defective parts.


• Remove and replace defective parts such as bushings, bearings, shafts, arbors, filters, pumps, gears, motors, transformers, coils, SCR, and diodes.


• Reassemble production machinery and checks manufactured parts to assure conformance to product specifications and proper functioning of equipment


• Perform repairs using the tools necessary to complete the task anywhere on the property. Examples include but not limited to roof mounted equipment, repairs/installations from a ladder or cramped quarters.


• Use of Negative pressure or PAPR respirator.


• Repair automated equipment utilizing programmable logic controls, PC's and HMI's

• 3 years of industrial maintenance or facilities experience


• 3 years of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pneumatic systems background with experience in industrial equipment maintenance or equivalent demonstrated ability.


• General machining skills such as lathes, mills and welding (mig,stick,tig).


• 3 years of experience in process cooling water systems


• Ability to use shop math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals) and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret basic measuring equipment.


• Ability to understand manufacturing processes and to read blueprints, wiring schematics, sketches, equipment service manuals, sample parts and general instructions.


• Basic PC skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), or specific programs required by individual departments.


• Valid Driver's license required.
