Position Details

Hiring Range: $46,093.00 - $53,373.00

Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (some evenings and weekends required)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide professional groundskeeping services for City of Durham parks, including trash removal, blowing and cleaning of surfaces, shelters, and courts, and restroom sanitation.
• Perform park and grounds cleanup and event setup on weekends and as needed.
• Carry out seasonal projects such as leaf pickup, brush clearing, snow and ice removal, storm cleanup, and athletic field maintenance.
• Use City-issued smartphone and asset management software (Cityworks) to document work completion.
• Operate special park cleanup trucks.
• Lead a crew, assign and inspect work, and maintain landscaping and turf care responsibilities.
• Perform technical work, service checks, and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Coordinate grounds maintenance, bathroom sanitation, and event setup and teardown.
• Maintain inventory, stock equipment, prepare reports, and ensure work accuracy.
• Provide customer service, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and communicate policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC).
• At least three years of ground maintenance experience.

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience using a smartphone.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• NC Pesticide License.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
