Job summary

USA Health on the Gulf Coast is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to install, service, and repair building systems across campus facilities. The role involves HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general trades work on-site and requires adherence to safety and infection control standards.

Employees must work 20 hours or more per week to qualify for benefits; standard duties include maintenance documentation and routine skill development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, or mechanical equipment Required
• Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education Preferred
• Specified positions may require possession of a valid driver’s license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, operates, and repairs electric motors, generators, and related electrical and mechanical equipment using applicable hand and power tools
• Installs, maintains, and repairs lighting, circuitry components, alarm systems, plumbing systems and components
• Performs maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and related components
• Documents and reports all data on preventive maintenance, logs readings, and completes requisitions for materials
