Job summary

General Plastics Manufacturing Company in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to lead reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical production equipment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role emphasizes proactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance to maximize asset uptime, diagnose complex issues, and drive improvements across the maintenance program to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise in-house and vendor work related to the selection, installation, modification, preventative maintenance, and diagnosis/repair of installed systems, and shop/grounds equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for all complex equipment failures and building maintenance issues and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
• Share best practices with maintenance team and plant management.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations and support corrective actions to help prevent recurring failures.
• Regularly inspect building, tools, and equipment for any unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, respond timely to emergency repair requests.
• Participate in and lead continuous improvement activities that improve safety, reliability, productivity, delivery, and service to operations team.
• Assist with development and management of asset management and preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain inventory, repair and maintenance logs, and equipment test results.
• Requisition and order materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
• Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results.
• Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities.
• Strictly adhere to workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information.
