Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs across hotel facilities. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and document work performed with attention to safety and quality.

The role requires 1–3 years in facilities maintenance, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license; extensive on-the-job training is provided. You will support engineering leadership and communicate results to guests and associates.

Qualifications

  • Reads blueprints, specifications and operating instructions to guide repairs.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs with adherence to safety standards.
  • Meets quality and guest service standards while completing tasks.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service requests.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure hotel maintenance standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest expectations.
  • Assist Chief Engineer in supervising Engineering functions.
  • Follow procedures for repair, maintenance, alteration and installation safely.
  • Advise and support other engineers as needed.
  • Identify and repair mechanical, HVAC, electrical or plumbing issues.

DescriptionThe Senior Maintenance Technician performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs, including guest room calls. This person will need to proactively follow specific procedures in performing repair, maintenance, alteration, and installation work, while doing so in a safe and neat manner. Additionally, this person will determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, and take necessary corrective action, all while following specific procedures for guest rooms and basic mechanical equipment.

Additionally, this person will determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, and take necessary corrective action, all while following specific procedures for guest rooms and basic mechanical equipment. The Senior Maintenance Technician will document all work performed, parts needed, and parts used on service requests. This person will keep all property areas in good repair with a level of quality by providing day to day maintenance to the hotel under the direction of Engineering Leadership. This person will analyze problems, identify courses of action, and implement solutions with available resources and communicate results. This person will possess adequate skills for the writing of routine reports, logs, and correspondence, and will communicate effectively with customers and associates.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • The Senior Maintenance Technician will ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
  • Support Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
  • Proactively follow specific departmental procedures in performing repair, maintenance, alteration, and installation work in a safe and neat manner.
  • Provide advice and support other engineers as needed or requested
  • Responsible for identifying and repairing all mechanical failure to include repair of appliances, HVAC, electrical or plumbing.
  • Maintain communications with supervisors to ensure all needed materials, tools, and supplies are available or on order.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • The Senior Maintenance Technician will be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and operating instructions.
  • A valid driver’s license and basic knowledge of safety and security work practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year trade school or equivalent.
  • General technical experience and prior experience, typically 1-3 years, between schooling and field experience in hotels, facilities maintenance is preferred. We provide extensive training, but prior experience is a plus.
  • The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. occasionally, as well as the ability to stand and move for long periods of time.
