Job summary

Frederick County Government is seeking a technical and supervisory Maintenance Technician to install, maintain and repair mechanical systems across county buildings. The role supervises Maintenance Technicians and outside contractors and requires adherence to OSHA/MOSH safety guidelines.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week, with full benefits and a comprehensive compensation package including paid leave, health insurance, pension and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of IBC and NFPA guidelines.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical problems and making repairs.
• Ability to supervise staff and contractors.
• Ability to estimate materials costs and labor hours.

Responsibilities

• Establish objectives and evaluate staff performance; complete performance evaluations.
• Supervise, approve leave, and time sheets.
• Monitor budgets and assist with department budget process.
• Coordinate building projects and inspections as required.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs and ensure safety compliance.
