Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington- seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and supervise installations, maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting across retail stores, warehouses, and offices. This role also interviews, hires, trains, and oversees workers, and ensures safe, compliant operations within the DC metro area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 7–10 years of experience in commercial maintenance.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general equipment repair.
• Must have own reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Proficient with computer use, MS Office, and basic project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations for construction, safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance workers and evaluate systems to determine required repairs.
• Plan maintenance schedules and set priorities for the team.
• Identify and procure repair materials as needed.
• Travel daily within the Washington, DC Metropolitan area with flexibility for nights/weekends.
• Coordinate installations and repairs by outside contractors and inspect work upon completion.
• Maintain organized shop/storage areas and manage core locking systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in safety training.
