Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and supervise installations, maintenance, and repairs across retail stores, warehouses, offices, and other facilities. The role includes overseeing a team of workers and coordinating with outside contractors to ensure timely, quality work.

The position requires daily travel within the Washington DC Metropolitan area, with flexibility for nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus seven to ten years’ experience in commercial maintenance.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• Considerable knowledge and experience of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general equipment repair.
• Must have own reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and be able to drive to any Goodwill market area.
• Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office applications; ability to document tasks clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing and other building systems.
• Plan maintenance staff schedules, establish priorities, goals and expectations.
• Identify and purchase repair and maintenance materials as needed.
• Travel daily within the Washington, DC Metropolitan area; occasional nights and/or weekends may be required.
• Coordinate repairs by outside contractors and inspect work upon completion.
• Ensure shop and storage areas are well-stocked and organized; maintain core locking system at all locations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security standards and training requirements.
