Job summary

dsm‑firmenich in St. Louis seeks a Senior Supervisor, Maintenance to lead a team of technicians, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, and partner with engineering and operations to maximize uptime and safety at the St. Louis TTH site.

You will supervise, coach, and develop staff, prioritize work with the planner, and analyze root causes to reduce downtime while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with effective communication and collaboration, safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians; drive accountability and performance.
  • Lead daily maintenance activities including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
  • Partner with Maintenance Planner to prioritize work orders and optimize schedules; drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and manage KPIs such as uptime, PM completion, and backlog; manage spare parts inventory and vendor coordination.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Job description

The Senior Supervisor, Maintenance is a hands‑on leader responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of all site equipment and maintenance operations at the St. Louis TTH site. This role leads a team of maintenance technicians, drives preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and partners with engineering and operations to optimize up time, reduce costs, and enable safe, efficient production

Your key responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians; drive accountability and performance
  • Lead daily maintenance activities including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance
  • Partner with Maintenance Planner to prioritize work orders and optimize schedules. Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement to reduce downtime
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

You bring
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
  • Strong leadership and team development skills along with Problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to safety and operational excellence

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm‑firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job‑related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary range: $100,000-$110,000.

In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
