Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals in Gurnee, IL is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the site’s maintenance operations, drive reliability improvements, and ensure safety and efficiency across all processes. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, develop maintenance plans, and coordinate with vendors to optimize equipment performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, 10+ years in maintenance with 5+ in leadership, and chemical manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field
• 10+ years of maintenance experience with 5+ years in maintenance leadership
• Chemical manufacturing experience is mandatory
• Experience with reliability and rotating equipment

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure efficient operation of equipment and systems
• Lead and supervise a diverse maintenance team including engineers, technicians, electricians, and parts personnel
• Establish preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
• Apply reliability-centered maintenance and conduct RCA/FMEA analyses to improve equipment performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to minimize disruptions
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs
• Maintain safety compliance and manage the maintenance budget and inventory
