Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals in Gurnee, IL is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead our in-site maintenance operations, drive reliability, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. You will oversee a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians, manage budgets, and coordinate with contractors to keep a 24/7 batch chemical facility running smoothly.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, at least 10 years of maintenance experience (5 in leadership), and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience with 5 years in maintenance management.
Chemical manufacturing experience is mandatory.
Experience in reliability and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules for all equipment.
Lead and supervise a diverse maintenance team including engineers and technicians.
Establish preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Apply reliability practices (RCM, RCA, FMEA) to improve equipment performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process issues promptly.
Coordinate with external vendors and manage maintenance budget and inventory.
