Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic in Little Rock, AR to diagnose, repair and maintain complex machinery. This role requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plus strong troubleshooting and leadership abilities.

You will conduct preventive maintenance, read schematics and blueprints, train junior staff, and respond to emergency breakdowns while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training required.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a mechanic, technician, or related role.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, PNID’s, and ladder logic.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with LOT0 procedures with all types of equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Relevant certifications (Boiler operator license, Ammonia classifications, HVAC certificate or electrical classification)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system problems through hands-on analysis.
• Perform advanced repairs and maintenance on equipment, including rigging, alignment and remount.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance, to ensure safe and reliable operation and diagnose future repairs needed.
• Repair or replace defective components, parts, and systems, analyzing defective cause.
• Ensure accurate B.O.M. stock requirement and non-standard components.
• Test machinery after repairs to verify proper performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations as well as company procedures.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior mechanics and production employees. Develop standard operating procedures for running equipment and repetitive tasks.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform repairs as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Job Summary (Purpose): A Senior Maintenance Mechanic is a highly skilled professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining equipment or machinery. They perform advanced mechanical work, troubleshoot complex issues, ensure safety and operational efficiency, and may supervise junior mechanics or technicians. They must have strong communication skills.

• Comfortable working in varied weather and shop conditions, which include height restrictions and confined spaces.

Work Environment (Typical):

• Indoor and outdoor work required.
• Exposure to loud machinery, temperature fluctuations, and industrial chemicals.
• PPE must be worn as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
