Lakeside Book Company in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a maintenance technician to work independently and with plant staff to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance. You will troubleshoot and repair plant machinery and electrical systems, read instructions, and follow safety procedures to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires 2 years of machine repair experience and technical training in machine mechanics, with the ability to work long shifts and lift up to 60 lbs.

Competenze

• 2 years’ machine repair and maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Technical training with a concentration in machine mechanics strongly preferred.

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant machinery and production equipment such as valves, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic hydraulics and boilers.
• Troubleshoot, repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters etc. as needed.
• Enter work orders in department software tracking program.
• Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
• Operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools, lathes, mills and other tools as necessary following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Fabricate parts and modify new and existing equipment.
• Repair and/or troubleshoot electrical problems.
• Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks; troubleshoot/repair equipment and facility failures, while following all safety and quality control standards.

Position Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant machinery and production equipment such as valves, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic hydraulics and boilers
• Troubleshoot, repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters etc. as needed
• Enter work orders in department software tracking program
• Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments
• Operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools, lathes, mills and other tools as necessary following standard operating procedures, (SOPs)
• Fabricate parts and modify new and existing equipment
• Repair and/or troubleshoot electrical problems

• All other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb ladders and work at high elevations, carry up to 60 lbs, and stand for 12 hours
• Must be able to work in varying conditions
• Ability to bend and reach for extended periods of time
• May be exposed to controlled chemical mists or vapors

Experience/Education:
