Job summary

The Cheesecake Factory Bakery in Rocky Mount, NC is seeking a Plant Engineer to lead the maintenance and engineering team, setting strategic direction and driving continuous improvement.

You will develop leaders, manage safety and quality programs, optimize asset use, and oversee utilities and environmental initiatives to support bakery operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching and leadership experience in a team-based environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field required.
• Master's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic direction for the facility Engineering and Maintenance team.
• Build leaders and readiness pipelines; source, hire, train, and coach.
• Implement safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer service programs.
• Oversee asset management: utilization, replacement, upgrade, maintenance, tracking.
• Direct utilities, infrastructure, and support area strategies.
• Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) efforts.
• Own environmental realm and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage capital and expense projects; coordinate cross-resource drivers.
• Lead cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Track and optimize energy and utility use (gas, electricity, water).

The Plant Engineer is responsible for leading the development and strategic direction for the facility maintenance team with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

• Lead the development of strategic direction for the facility Engineering and Maintenance team.
• Develop Leaders and Members to higher levels of success and responsibility thus creating readiness pipelines for your particular areas of responsibility including to source, hire, train and coach.
• Lead efforts to develop and implement safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer service programs throughout the functional areas you coach as well as act as a resource and ownership driver to the rest of the facility.
• Lead the asset management program for the facility to include maximum utilization, replacement, upgrading, maintenance, and tracking.
• Lead the strategic direction for all utilities, infrastructure, and support areas within the facility.
• Lead the Process Safety Management (PSM) efforts for the facility.
• Own the environmental realm for the facility in conjunction with leading continuous improvement efforts within this area.
• Lead capital and expense driven projects within the facility as well as act as liaison to those other resources that may be driving projects that affect the facility.
• Lead cross-functional teams comprised of various functional areas within the organization.
• Effectively and efficiently manage the use all consumed energy and utilities, including natural gas, electricity, water.

What we require:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching and leadership experience in a team-based environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field Required.
