Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance team at our skilled nursing facility. This hands-on role focuses on creating a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents and staff, with emphasis on Life Safety and preventative maintenance.

As part of the leadership team, you will supervise daily operations, coordinate with Nursing and Environmental Services, manage vendors, and ensure regulatory readiness through ongoing inspections and documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant maintenance experience in healthcare preferred.
• Prior LTC/SNF experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Life Safety regulations and healthcare facility requirements.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize.
• Ability to work independently and with facility leadership.
• Hands-on approach when needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Maintenance Department.
• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure facility, equipment, systems, and grounds are properly maintained.
• Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain maintenance policies, records, and documentation.
• Coordinate maintenance needs with Nursing, Dietary, Environmental Services, and others.
• Ensure storage areas and maintenance areas remain organized and compliant.
• Oversee outside vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections by authorized agencies.
• Assist with plans of correction for maintenance or Life Safety deficiencies.
• Monitor equipment, supplies, repairs, and maintenance-related expenses.
• Ensure work orders and maintenance requests are completed timely.
• Work with the Administrator and facility leadership to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
