As part of the leadership team, you will supervise daily operations, coordinate with Nursing and Environmental Services, manage vendors, and ensure regulatory readiness through ongoing inspections and documentation.
Prime Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to join the leadership team of a skilled nursing facility.
We are looking for a hands‑on leader who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our residents and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, and Life Safety requirements, with previous healthcare or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred.
Oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department
Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance programs
Ensure the facility, equipment, systems, and grounds are properly maintained
Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns
Maintain maintenance policies, procedures, records, and required documentation
Coordinate maintenance needs with Nursing, Dietary, Environmental Services, and other departments
Ensure storage areas, utility rooms, workspaces, and maintenance areas remain organized and compliant
Coordinate and oversee outside vendors, contractors, and service providers
Participate in facility surveys and inspections conducted by authorized agencies
Assist with plans of correction for any maintenance or Life Safety deficiencies
Monitor equipment, supplies, repairs, and maintenance-related expenses
Ensure work orders and maintenance requests are completed timely and appropriately
Work closely with the Administrator and facility leadership to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
Previous maintenance experience required
Previous Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of Life Safety regulations and healthcare facility requirements preferred
Preventative maintenance experience
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintenance needs
Ability to work independently while collaborating with facility leadership
Dependable, responsive, and comfortable taking a hands‑on approach when needed
