Job summary

CDW is seeking a z/OS mainframe installation and support specialist to manage IBM mainframe environments using ServerPac for z/OS, apply operating system and product fixes, and install ISV products. You will also estimate and plan installation and upgrade activities as well as transition projects for customers.

In addition, you will participate in disaster recovery exercises, ensure system improvements, diagnose performance issues, and mentor other engineers as part of the Managed Services

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; 5 years of IBM mainframe installation/support experience, or 9 years total experience in mainframe software
• Experience with z/OSMF Configuration Assistant
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience executing disaster recovery plans and BCP processes
• Familiarity with UNIX Systems Services, JCL, and mainframe ISV products (CA, BMC, Rocket)
• Ability to mentor teammates and lead implementations

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade z/OS and related software for IBM mainframes
• Provide technical support for DR/BCP exercises
• Plan and estimate installation/upgrade activities and customer transitions
• Implement and optimize mainframe performance
• Support ISV products and integrate with client environments
• Mentor team members and share technical knowledge
• Address customer incidents and change requests in a timely manner
• Develop reusable assets and standards for Managed Services
