Job summary

JSM Consulting Inc. seeks a seasoned Mainframe Programmer to maintain and enhance the MNR Crew Management System. You will lead data migrations, ensure batch reliability, and support integration with Kronos and PeopleSoft. This onsite/hybrid/remote role anchors critical payroll and reporting operations for rail operations.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in mainframe application development, strong COBOL/JCL skills, and a track record of mission-critical systems support in complex environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in application development, preferably mainframe or legacy enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, interfaces, and data integrations.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under time-sensitive conditions.
• Experience with mission-critical or operationally sensitive systems.
• Familiarity with large-scale data migration efforts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, and enhance legacy mainframe applications supporting the MNR Crew Management System.
• Monitor and troubleshoot daily batch jobs, interfaces, and workflows to ensure stable operations.
• Load and validate new crew schedules within CMS.
• Manage data interfaces between CMS and other MTA systems, including Kronos and PeopleSoft.
• Develop, modify, and generate operational and regulatory reports for FRA, IG, and stakeholders.
• Lead data migration strategy for migrating CMS data to the new system.
