Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Principal Mainframe Engineer for the FPRS Client Enhancements Team in Westlake, TX. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing COBOL and JCL solutions across CICS, DB2, and VSAM, and coordinating Control-M scheduling.

You will serve as a principal solution partner for major clients, guide year-end processing and production readiness, and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on complex, client-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mainframe engineering experience.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and Control-M.
• Experience in complex client enhancements and production support.
• Financial services experience preferred.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Our client seeks a Principal Mainframe Engineer to join the FPRS Client Enhancements Team supporting custom enhancements for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution clients. The role will design, develop, and optimize COBOL and JCL solutions across CICS, DB2, and VSAM, coordinate Control-M scheduling, and serve as a principal solution partner for major clients. The engagement targets year-end deliverables and long-term client initiatives.

Rate: $60.00 to $65.00/hr. w2
