Job summary

IT Primeinc LLC in Dallas, TX seeks a seasoned Mainframe Networking Specialist to install, configure, and maintain z/OS Communications Server components and TCP/IP on z/OS. You will troubleshoot VTAM, SNA/EE, TN3270, and TLS, ensuring secure connectivity between mainframes and distributed systems.

Responsibilities include DR planning, failover validation, and coordinating with security teams to meet audit requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of mainframe networking experience.
Familiarity with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF and related tools.
Experience with TCP/IP on z/OS and VTAM/SNA/EE.
Ability to analyze logs and traces to resolve connectivity issues.
Experience with SSL/TLS and secure data exchange.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain z/OS Communications Server components.
Support and manage TCP/IP configuration on z/OS systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot VTAM definitions and network resources.
Configure and support EE and SNA connectivity where applicable.
Maintain TN3270 access and session-related connectivity for end users and applications.
Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues involving IP routing and firewall blocks.
Support file transfer protocols such as FTP, SFTP, and other secure data exchange solutions.
Work with security teams to enforce secure communication protocols and comply with audits.
Participate in DR tests, failover validation, and recovery procedures.
