Job summary
UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Principal Infrastructure & Operations Engineer specializing in zSystems mainframe networking to join the enterprise team. You will configure, tune, and optimize z/OS Communications Server, VTAM, and FTP/TN3270, ensuring high availability and secure operations across mainframe networks.
You will lead on-call rotations, implement Connect Direct/NDM, and drive continuous improvement using enterprise AI tools while exploring new trends in LinuxOne and mainframe
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of mainframe network system programming experience.
Responsibilities
- Configure, tune, and troubleshoot z/OS Communications Server and VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP.
- Install, configure, and maintain Connect Direct/NDM and FTP/SFTP/FTPS.
- Define and maintain Policy Agent configurations and Open Systems Adapter definitions.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization using mainframe tools.
- Serve in on-call rotation for maintenance windows and weekend work.
- Utilize AI tools to streamline workflows and analyze operational data.
- Evaluate emerging AI trends for mainframe and LinuxOne.
