System Soft Technologies is seeking a Senior Mainframe Network & Security Engineer (IBM z/OS) for a remote role. You will administer z/OS network infrastructure, manage TLS/SSL certs, and coordinate with Cybersecurity for security standards and audits.

The position emphasizes disaster recovery planning, high availability, and incident resolution in a large enterprise environment. You will mentor junior staff, document architecture and procedures, and participate in system upgrades and vendor

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience supporting IBM z/OS enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in z/OS systems programming and administration.
• Experience with IBM mainframe networking and security controls.

Responsabilités

• Administer and support z/OS network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VTAM, SNA, NJE, OSA).
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and routing issues.
• Configure and maintain network security controls for internal and external connectivity.
• Support high-availability and disaster recovery networking solutions.
• Manage digital certificates and PKI infrastructure across the mainframe environment.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams on security standards and audit requirements.
• Provide advanced support for IBM z/OS operating systems and subsystems.
• Assist with system upgrades, maintenance, and vendor product implementations.
• Lead root-cause analysis of complex infrastructure incidents and document procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Mainframe Network Administration

• Administer and support z/OS network infrastructure, including:
• TCP/IP
• VTAM
• SNA
• TN3270
• NJE
• OSA network technologies
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and routing issues.
• Configure and maintain network security controls for internal and external connectivity.
• Support high-availability and disaster recovery networking solutions.

Security & Compliance

• Manage digital certificates, PKI infrastructure, and SSL/TLS implementation across the mainframe environment.
• SFTP
• FTPS
• SSH
• Managed File Transfer (MFT)
• Partner with Cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain security standards, controls, and audit requirements.
• Support vulnerability remediation and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Systems Engineering & Operations

• Provide advanced support for IBM z/OS operating systems and related subsystems.
• Assist with system upgrades, maintenance activities, and vendor product implementations.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and resolution of complex infrastructure incidents.
• Support disaster recovery testing, planning, and execution.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architectural standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience supporting IBM z/OS enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• z/OS Systems Programming and Administration
• IBM Mainframe Networking
• TCP/IP Configuration and Troubleshooting
• VTAM, SNA, NJE, and Enterprise Extender
• SSL/TLS Certificates and Digital Certificate Management
• SFTP, SSH, FTPS, and Secure File Transfer Technologies
• Experience supporting IBM z15 or equivalent IBM Z platforms.
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity practices.
• Experience working in large enterprise production environments.
