Job summary

BMC Software in the United States is seeking a Senior Product Developer (Mainframe) to join the IZOT team and drive the Code Pipeline project. You will design, develop, and maintain core mainframe software using C, C++, and HLASM within z/OS environments, while mentoring team members.

The role is fully remote in the US or Canada and requires deep knowledge of JES2, CLIST, JCL, Db2, and VSAM. You will work with global clients on complex issues and stay current with mainframe trends.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years experience with z/OS environment and internals.
• 8–10 years IBM coding and development with C, C++, and HLASM.
• Strong experience with JES2, TSO/ISPF, JCL, Db2, and VSAM.
• Dumps reading and analysis using IPCS, XDC, etc.
• Experience developing code using low-level OS functions and debugging.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and delivery of Code Pipeline and related product lines using C, C++, HLASM.
• Design, code, and fix bugs; conduct code and design reviews.
• Maintain knowledge of mainframe environments, industry trends, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with global clients on complex product issues/escalations.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to the development team.
