Job summary

BMC Software, Inc. is seeking a Lead Mainframe Developer to join the IZOT team for Db2 product lines. Fully remote in the United States or Canada, with occasional travel as needed.

Lead design, development, and delivery of BMC AMI Copy for Db2 and AMI Recover for Db2, working on z/OS internals and CLIST/JCL environments. You will guide a team of developers, provide technical mentorship, and collaborate with global clients on complex product issues while keeping up with Db2, JES2, and mainframe

Qualifications

• 10+ years in z/OS environment and Db2 internals.
• Extensive IBM mainframe development with C/C++ and system-side programming (HLASM).
• Strong experience with JES2, JCL, TSO/ISPF and Db2 environments.
• Dump analysis via IPCS and XDC; able to troubleshoot complex issues at system and application levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, maintenance, and delivery of Db2 products and solutions (Db2 for z/OS).
• Code, review, and fix complex Db2 product solutions; propose high-quality design options.
• Evaluate Db2 IBM changes and assess product impact; stay current with Db2 technologies and mainframe trends.
• Collaborate with global clients on issues/escalations and mentor the development team.
