Job summary

Ampstek LLC is seeking a Mainframe Developer with AI experience in Alpharetta, GA for a contract engagement. You will work on enhancements, fixes, and modernization of mainframe systems, performing analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation across batch and online environments.

The ideal candidate is senior, with strong COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2 and CICS expertise, and capable of driving the team while leveraging AI/GenAI knowledge to inform solutions.

Qualifications

Very strong on Mainframe Enterprise COBOL, JCL.
Hands-on and an expert in VSAM, DB2 and CICS.
Must be senior with ability to set up and drive the team.

Responsibilities

Participate in requirements analysis and impact assessment for enhancements, defect fixes, modernization, or regulatory changes.
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain application components using standard mainframe technologies ensuring alignment with client’s approved coding, security, and architectural standards.
Perform analysis, coding, unit testing, and documentation for batch programs, online transactions and interfaces running on the mainframe platform.
Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and defects.
Support system testing, integration testing, and UAT by providing defect fixes, data corrections, and validation support.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, release planning and operational readiness activities.
