Job summary

Galent in the United States seeks an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance mission-critical mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, MQ, and CICS, along with hands-on experience in healthcare claims adjudication. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mainframe application development, code migration, release management, and healthcare business workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ.
• Support healthcare claims adjudication systems and understand related business processes and workflows.
• Perform code migration, package creation, and code promotion across Development, Test, and Production environments.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.
• Participate in testing, debugging, production support, and release activities.
• Ensure application quality, performance, and compliance with established development standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, DB2, MQ, and CICS.
• Experience with JCL and VSAM.
• Experience in healthcare claims adjudication and related business workflows.
• Knowledge of code migration, package creation, release management, and code promotion processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
