Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to design, test, and maintain complex mainframe applications supporting critical banking functions.

You will collaborate across teams in the SDLC, guide deployment, and mentor peers while ensuring performance, reliability, and adherence to coding standards. This role requires location-based work three days per week at U.S. Bank facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Five to six years of relevant mainframe development experience.
• Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, MQ, and IMS Database.
• Hands-on experience with mainframe development tools: GitLab, IDz, File Manager, EZTRIEVE, TSO.
• Advanced knowledge of mainframe programming, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain mainframe applications.
• Contribute to architecture activities, estimates, and roadmaps.
• Analyze requirements and propose scalable, high-performing solutions.
• Collaborate across the SDLC and support deployment and release activities.
• Mentor developers and drive modernization initiatives.
