TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, build, and modernize core deposit and pricing applications for the banking sector. The role emphasizes COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM on large-scale mainframe environments.

Based in Charlotte, NC, this contract role requires SDLC, Agile, and DevOps familiarity and includes on-call responsibilities and collaboration with distributed teams on modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IBM Mainframe development experience.
• Strong COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM skills.
• Experience with large-scale banking or financial services apps.
• Solid SDLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements to core deposit and banking apps.
• Support mission-critical mainframe systems for deposits, accounts, pricing.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM-based apps.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure standards.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects, and infra teams.
• Assist with modernization, including APIs and cloud-native platforms.
• Document designs, workflows, and support procedures.
• Provide on-call support and production deployment as required.
