Job summary

Crisil in Plano, Texas is seeking a Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer to strengthen payment applications, contribute to design and development, and drive improvements with Agile practices and AI-assisted development.

You will work on COBOL, CICS, JCL, and IMS in a global banking context, collaborate with SMEs, ensure high-quality deliverables, and help implement performance tuning and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe application development.
• Minimum 5+ years with COBOL, CICS, JCL and IMS.
• Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS DB/IMS DC.
• Familiarity with batch and online TP systems.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS DB/DC.
• Support mission-critical payment applications for global banking clients.
• Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Assist in performance tuning and capacity improvement initiatives.
• Contribute towards documentation, standards, and governance practices.
• Explore and support adoption of Agentic AI capabilities (automation, AI-assisted development).
