Job summary

The State of Nebraska, Health & Human Services – Agency 25, seeks an IT Applications Developer/Senior – MMIS in Lincoln. You will design, develop, and maintain COBOL and IBM DB2 applications that support Nebraska’s Medicaid claims processing system.

You’ll work with a large mainframe team to ensure reliability and timely delivery. Ideal candidates have deep COBOL/DB2/CICS expertise, experience with IBM z/OS, and a track record in large-scale Medicaid or claims processing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or engineering.
• Two years of experience or training in coding applications; education may be substituted for experience year-for-year.
• Experience with mainframe development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support COBOL/DB2/CICS applications for Nebraska Medicaid's claims processing system.
• Provide production and test issue resolution within constrained timeframes.
• On-call support for overnight and weekend batch processing schedules.
• Create and maintain supporting technical documentation.
