Job summary

Eight Eleven Group is seeking a seasoned Mainframe COBOL Developer in Columbia, SC. The role blends development, testing coordination, and production support for Medicaid MMIS systems in a hybrid setting. You will work with government stakeholders and technical teams to deliver enhancements across the SDLC lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in COBOL on mainframes, solid JCL skills, and experience with MMIS or healthcare environments. Hybrid work in Columbia, SC is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of COBOL development and mainframe experience.
• Proficiency in COBOL development and JCL.
• Experience supporting MMIS or healthcare/government environments preferred.
• Strong SDLC knowledge and production deployment experience.
• Able to troubleshoot production issues in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe COBOL applications using COBOL and JCL.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into system modifications.
• Support MMIS Medicaid applications and production environments.
• Participate in all SDLC phases from requirements to deployment.
• Coordinate UAT activities for system changes.
• Move changes through testing environments to production.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with DHHS, Clemson teams, and other resources.
• Create and maintain technical documents and artifacts.
