Stellent IT LLC is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer (Systems Programmer with Automation) for a 6-12+ month contract in the New York City area. Hybrid work arrangement is available, with relocation support.

The role emphasizes leading automation initiatives, DR readiness, and cross-site resilience across IBM z/OS environments. Ideal candidates have 8-10+ years of experience, strong REXX and z/OS skills, and hands-on DevOps with Jenkins, Zowe, and Ansible.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading mainframe automation in large, multi-site enterprises.
• Expert REXX and deep z/OS knowledge with robust automation delivery.
• Proficiency with DevOps tooling (Jenkins incl. Zowe plug-in, Ansible) and REST API integrations.
• Experience with GDPS and Safeguarded Copy for resilience and DR automation.

Responsibilities

• Own mainframe automation frameworks and system state management.
• Design/support automated failover in multi-site environments.
• Develop and govern RESTful API integrations for orchestration.
• Lead DevOps tooling and CI/CD for mainframe workloads.
• Manage ServiceNow ITSM automation and AIOps event correlation.
• Mentor teams in SQL, JCL, ISPF/TSO, and related toolchains.
