Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled machinist for its Windsor Locks, CT location. The role involves setting up and operating a range of conventional and CNC equipment to machine precision components, performing bench assembly tasks, and preparing parts for welding under strict EH&S protocols.

The position requires U.S. citizenship and at least 2 years of hands-on experience with manual lathes/milling machines and precise fabrication.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.
2 years of experience with setup and operating a variety of machine tools, such as lathes (manual), milling machines (manual), to machine precision components per specifications.

Responsibilities

Set-up and operate a variety of conventional and CNC/NC equipment to perform machining operations to established methods and procedures.
Set-up and perform bench assembly, pressure, leakage, and spin balance tests.
Prepare and perform bench operations such as hand polishing, grit blasting, shop peening, deburring, tumbling, etching and grinding.
Set-up and operate ovens for drying, aging and curing product.
Prepare product for welding.
Receive, unload, check, record, prepare, inventory, store, disburse and deliver a variety of materials, products and equipment.
